Dr. Ruth Adri

An anesthesiologist

Dr. Ruth Edry completed her medical studies at Tel Aviv University in 1993. She then specialized in anesthesia at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa and currently works as a senior physician in the anesthesia department.

Dr. Edry is responsible for anesthesia for dental treatments at the hospital’s maxillofacial clinic. The range of treatments performed in the hospital clinic under sedation and general anesthesia includes all dental subspecialties in a challenging patient population: patients with severe dental anxiety, patients with chronic underlying diseases, and children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

In 2017, Dr. Edry was appointed head of the acute pain service at Rambam Hospital. Dr. Edry’s research interests include pain and its treatment. In recent years, she has been involved in the development of a monitor for identifying and quantifying pain during and after surgery at an Israeli startup company (Medasense). The device was recently approved for use and distribution in Europe.

Dr. Edry is a faculty member at the Technion Faculty of Medicine and has been actively involved in teaching students for the past seven years. In the past, she won the “Outstanding Lecturer” award in the Exposure course. In addition, Dr. Edry participates in the preparation of patients taking blood thinners for surgery.

Dr. Edry is a mother of two children and lives in northern Israel with her partner and children. Her main hobbies today are reading and hiking. In her youth, she played the violin and classical guitar for many years, and especially loved sailing small sailboats as part of Sea Scouts.
