MAXILLARY SINUS ELEVATION AT THE ATROPHIC MAXILLA

Goal: To Acquire Knowledge & Skill in the management of the Elevation of the Maxillary Sinus

For the past 20 years, maxillary sinus elevation has become an inseparable part of the implantology armamentarium. The surgical technique requires meticulousness from the initial planning, to practice and final care. The course will present protocols and equipment. We will discuss obstacles and dilemmas alongside complications and treatment, together with the various alternatives at hand.

Doctors will receive personal training with practical experience and will be able to view procedures live from the operation room. If maxillary sinus elevation is considered a complex procedure, the right preparation and adherence to protocols are sure to turn it into a safe, routine and successful atrophic maxilla reconstruction.

  • Resorption of the crest and Pneumatization of the Sinus

09:45-10:30: Maxillary Sinus Elevation - the Technique

  • Principles, Protocol and Instrumentation
  • Keys for Success

10:30-11:00: Coffee Break

11:00-11:45: Traps and Pitfalls (vessels, septa, thick cortical bone and polyps)

  • The Dilemma (one/two stages, Bone grafting, Membranes)
  • Complications and Treatment

11:45-12:30: The Atrophic Maxilla - Combination of Sinus Elevation and Lateral Augmentation

  • Sinus Elevation alternatives:
  • The Crestal approach, Minimal Invasive Technique, Short Implants, Tilted Implants and Zygomatic Implants

12:30-14:00: Lunch Break

14:00-16:30: Hands on - Models/Animal model Workshop

  • The Maxillary Sinus elevation - The Window technique
